What is Fracture Toughness Measurement of Perspex about?

The document measures the fracture toughness of Perspex samples with both sharp and blunt cracks by subjecting them to loads. Six Perspex samples with artificial blunt cracks of various sizes were secured in a micro-tester and tested to three loads while calculating deflection. The results, plotted in Graph 1, show that fracture toughness decreases with increased crack length and velocity, in line with theoretical expectations.
