There are two ways to create a chart of accounts in SAP: 1) Create from scratch by defining the account number length and other attributes, or 2) Copy from an existing chart of accounts. The document outlines both methods - for creating from scratch, you navigate the IMG menu and fill out fields to define the new chart. For copying, you select the existing chart to copy from within transaction OBY7 and fill out basic identifying fields for the new chart. Both methods allow customizing the chart of accounts
