The study presents the fabrication of a nanostructured porous MnO2 film on Ni foam substrate using a cyclic voltammetry (CV) electrodeposition method, achieving a high mass loading of 6 to 18 mg cm−2. The MnO2 film exhibited a maximum specific capacitance of 2790 mF cm−2 at 2 mA cm−2 and maintained over 90% capacitance retention after 1000 cycles. An asymmetric supercapacitor using this MnO2 as the positive electrode demonstrated a specific capacitance of 67 F g−1 and an energy density of 37.22 Wh Kg−1.
