1) Two spectators select a card from a deck that has been arranged with all red cards on top and all black cards on the bottom. 2) The magician spreads the deck from right to left, having the spectators replace their cards in the same positions. This puts the cards in the opposite color sections. 3) Various shuffles and cuts are performed to thoroughly mix the cards while retaining the single opposite color cards. When displayed, one card is found to be the opposite color among all others of the same color
