About this document

Effect of Dissolved Niobium on Steel by Lorena Suarez is a document available to read on EtoBox.

The document discusses the effect of dissolved niobium on the eutectoid transformation behavior in near-eutectoid high-carbon steels. It was found that dissolved niobium significantly increases the eutectoid carbon content and hardenability of steel, yields finer and more uniform polygonal proeutectoid ferrite, induces a transition in the morphology of eutectoid cementite from lamellar to somewhat spherical, and increases the misorientation angle of pearlite colonies from being focused near 0° to near 60°.
