About this document
Novel Carbapenemase in Pseudomonas Isolate by Anis Malak is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The document describes the discovery of a novel class A carbapenemase enzyme called BIC-1 found in a Pseudomonas fluorescens isolate from the Seine River in Paris. BIC-1 shares some sequence similarity to other carbapenemases and is able to hydrolyze various beta-lactam antibiotics including carbapenems. The gene encoding BIC-1 was found to be located chromosomally and was also present in other P. fluorescens isolates from the river.
