About this document

Judiciary and Parliament in Pakistan by Shrikant Shukla is a document available to read on EtoBox.

Parliament, the Judiciary and the Executive are the 3 main branches of the state, with well-defined spheres of authority under the Constitution. Parliament is the legislative arm, the executive is responsible for law enforcement, and the judiciary is responsible for the analysis of the Constitution and laws as well as settling disputes. Each institution acts as a check and balance on the powers of the others, which can create tension in their relationships.
