What is TUBEX Test for Typhoid Diagnosis about?
The TUBEX test can detect Salmonella Typhi antibodies, soluble antigens, and whole bacteria. It uses indicator particles coated with anti-O9 antibodies and magnetic particles coated with S. Typhi O9 LPS antigen. Patient antibodies or antigen inhibit binding between the particles. The test was previously used to detect antibodies but can also detect soluble O9 LPS antigen in buffer, serum, and urine by mixing the sample with indicator particles first. Whole S. Typhi and S.
