This study evaluated the Pediatric Index of Mortality 3 (PIM 3) for predicting mortality in Korean children admitted to a pediatric intensive care unit (ICU). The results showed that PIM 3 outperformed both PIM 2 and the Pediatric Risk of Mortality (PRISM) III scoring systems, with a higher area under the ROC curve (0.826).
