This study developed a method to eliminate Potyvirus and Carlavirus from infected shallot bulbs using a combination of shoot tip culture and thermotherapy. Shoot tips of sizes 1mm, 2mm, and 3mm from infected bulbs were cultured on growth media and subjected to thermotherapy at 30°C and 37°C. Virus elimination was evaluated using RT-PCR and plant growth characteristics.
