The lubrication by the cutting fluid affects the surface finish of a workpiece and tool life in turning process. The proper lubrication ensures higher performance of the machine. Empirical tests were conducted to study the influence of the machining parameters on a single point cutting tool with redesigned geometry. Surface roughness on the rake surface of the tool was performed by compromising physical characteristics.
