Parotid gland (PG) injuries are rare with few studies conducted studying their incidence. 1 The primary cause of PG injury is penetrating trauma in the cheek region. Secondary causes include blunt trauma and iatrogenic injury. 2,3 Traumatic injuries of the PG and parotid duct (PD) typically occur in men aged between 25 and 35 years, with male incidences of 2 to 8 times that of women. 1,2,4,5 Early recognition and treatment of PD injuries is essential because delays in diagnosis result in late complications. Several case series have demonstrated the natural history of untreated PD injuries by reporting the complications that developed. 1,2,6 The majority of patients in these series consistently returned for care of a sialocele or fistula
