What is University of Manchester Archaeology Report about?

The second season of archaeological excavations at Mellor has confirmed the site to be an Iron Age hillfort. Trenches excavated in the field to the north of the Old Vicarage verified the presence and alignment of the perimeter ditch. It now appears that the area enclosed is much larger than originally thought following the 1998 evaluation, however the overall size of the site is still to be confirmed.
